Support after the programme ends
Whatever stage you are at, support should be honest, safe and accountable. Here is what we can and cannot offer.
What we can offer
- • Moderated peer support with others maintaining change
- • Information about family court, children’s services and assessments
- • Practical tools for maintaining accountability
- • Signposting to accredited services and specialist organisations
What we cannot offer
- • Emergency or crisis response — call 999 if anyone is in danger
- • A replacement for accredited domestic-abuse interventions
- • Legal advice or representation
- • Statements, letters or certification that somebody is safe
Routes into support
Specialist organisations
We are not a crisis service. If you need help right now, these trusted UK organisations can respond immediately. Life After Change is independent of them and links to them for information only.
National Domestic Abuse Helpline
24/7 support for anyone experiencing domestic abuse. Run by Refuge.
Respect
The UK helpline for people who are concerned about their own use of harmful behaviour and want to change.
Women’s Aid
A national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children, with information and local services.
Refuge
Specialist support for women, children and men experiencing domestic and gender-based violence.
NSPCC
Advice and support for adults concerned about a child’s safety or welfare.
Emergency services
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999. If you cannot speak, listen to the operator and respond when prompted.
Other ways to stay involved
If peer support is not right for you right now, there are other ways to keep up the work and stay connected.
