Safeguarding
Safety is the condition of everything we do
Supporting rehabilitation and maintained behavioural change never means minimising previous abuse or compromising the safety of victims, survivors or children.
What we do not do
We do not determine whether an individual poses a risk. We do not assess, certify, endorse or vouch for anybody. We do not provide letters, references or statements for court, and we do not challenge safeguarding decisions taken by professionals.
How we protect people
Community content and reports are reviewed by the site administrator in line with the published community guidelines. Life After Change is not monitored continuously and is not an emergency or statutory safeguarding service. Reports will be reviewed as soon as reasonably practicable, but no response time can be guaranteed. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999.
Members use display names. Content that identifies victims, survivors or children, shares court documents or private addresses, or seeks to circumvent safeguarding measures is removed and accounts are suspended.
- Reviewed by the site administrator
- Display names, never legal names
- Removal of identifying content
- Reports reviewed as soon as reasonably practicable
- Referral to police or local authority where required
Raising a concern
If you believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, call 999. For non-urgent safeguarding concerns about our services, members or content, use the form here. Reports are reviewed by the site administrator as soon as reasonably practicable, but this service is not monitored continuously and no response time can be guaranteed. We may share information with the police or a local authority without consent where there is a risk of harm.
