For professionals
Evidence-informed, safeguarding-led practice
Information for social workers, CAFCASS professionals, family practitioners, domestic-abuse services, programme providers, researchers, housing and other safeguarding professionals.
Our safeguarding philosophy
Life After Change does not assess, certify or vouch for risk. We do not challenge legitimate safeguarding decisions, and we do not act as an advocate against professional judgement. Our role is limited and deliberately so: we support continued accountability and behavioural change after formal interventions end.
We work on the principle that a person’s history remains relevant, and that their subsequent conduct — sustained over time and evidenced properly — should also be capable of being understood.
Evidence-based practice
Our materials draw on the established domestic-abuse evidence base and on accredited behaviour-change practice. We welcome scrutiny, research partnerships and constructive challenge from the sector.
